CENTRAL MISSION FLOWER SHOW.
A very successful flower show was held on Saturday night under the auspices of the Methodist Central M ssion, when qu.to a large display of out (lowers/fruit, vegetables, and cakes was arranged for conipet tion. The hall arrangements were carried out in i manner that reflected the good taste frf those responsible, the whole cllect being Very pleasing. Special mention must be made of the display of sweet peas sent in by Mrs Allen, of Anderson Bay; and the brilliant colouring of a stand of collarette dahlias staged for exhibition only by Mr J P. Johnson, of North-East Valley. Three \ases of very large r ony-flowercd dalil as, exhibited by Miss Enis, wore greatly admired. The table on which thov "stood was artistically decoratcd with designs of coloured cactus dahlias sent in for decorative purposes by Mr R. Fountain. The entries in the vegetable section were very large, and some enormous cabbages and carrots from the country were staged. Mr D Tannock judged the fruit and vegetables Miss Reul the cut flowers and floral work. Mr F. Pavis the baking sect'on, and Mr Rornison the sweets. The prizes were well distributed. Owing to circumscribed space, wo-are unable to publish the prize list.
