lho annual meeting of tho Dunedin Choral Society was held in The Bristol concert hall last evening, there bein"- a very large attendance, especially of ladies. Mr G. M. Thomson pres.ded. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of tho report and balance' sheet, complimented tho hon. secretary on the nature of tho report, which he said was a very excellent piccc of work. Regarding tho year's operations, he said that the burden °f [he work had fallen upon tho shoulders of had a dozen executive officers, and tho conductor (Mr S. Wolf) and Mrs Wolf. Ho wanted members to secure honorary members and sell tickets for the different concerts held during the year. The society's function was to educate tho community up to a better idea of music. Ho read a letter from Mr Wolf, expressing the hope that he would soon again bo able to wield tho baton. He paid a tribute to Mr Holgate, who had done such good work during his absence, and urged the members to oivo Mr llolgate every support. Mr Logic seconded the motion. He said tho report was one of which the members might well be proud. Financially the society was in a better position than it was 12 months ago. Ihey had music on hand which waf, ordered seme lime ago for pcace demonstrations, *ind which litul been paid lor, and, please God, he hoped they might bo able to use it soon.—(Applause.) A general discussion ensued, in the course of which it was pointed out that the attendance tins year had not been good at practices. though the tenors had been most consistent.
