Messrs Ward, Lock, and Co. have sent us " The Wonder Book of Children and the People They Live With " —one of the admirable series of wonder books with -which the name of this publishing firm ie associated. The book is described as " a humble but sincere contribution to the cause- of international understanding,"—that is to say, those responsible for it set out to convey to the youthful mind, in simple language such as may readily be comprehended by young people, information concerning , not only the little folk of all nationalities, but also concerning foreign lands themselves. In the accomplishment of this plan the aid of illustration has born especially involved, for the book contains nearly 300 illustrations, in addition to a dozen coloured plates. " The Wonder Book of Children " should mako a very acceptable present to a young boy or ;-irl at this time.
