Brandon attended at Buckingham Palace last week t« reccive the. decorations which he has beefl awarded for services against Zeppelins. His ease was rather an unusual ono, for the King pinned on his tunic si tho same time the Military Cross which ho -won tortus months ago, and the D.S.O. for services during the recent raid. Tho latter decoration is not for actually destroying a Zeppelin, but for some services in connection with tho destruction of several of them, which is regarded in the Royal Flying Corps as ticularly deserving of recognition. Tho King shook hands with Lieutenant Brandon and congratulated him. Matron Bertha Nurse, N.Z.A.N.S., received the Royal Red Cross of the First Class from the King at Buckingham Palace last week. Miss Nurse was trained at the Wellington Hospital and had seen some services abroad (at the and Military Hospital in Cairo before the wnr). she went to Samoa with the N.Z.E.F., and is now matron of No. 1 New Zealand General Hospital at Broekenhurst. Sergeant Frank Green, N.Z.E.F., has'been anpointed second lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps. He has lately been attached to Headquarters in Southampton row.
