The present indications are lor strong south-easterly winds, squally at times, in and northward of Cook Strait, with considerable rain probable in the northern and east ooast districts. The Monowai is due to leave port tomorrow for Lytteiton, and she will then go on to Wellington to assist in the ferry service. , She will take up her running in the East Coast service on January 4. ®' onn k duo to leave port to-day Tim am, Lytteiton, and Wellington. A start was made yesterday on the work of clearing the Antiope at Port Chalmers. The timber and iron which comprised her cargo will then be removed and the vessel will be docked and thoroughly overhauled The Glenelg, under charter to the Admiralty as a collier, reached Port Chalmers early yesterday morning with a cargo of 5480 tons of ooal from Calcutta, which port she left on November 24. It is expected that the Glenelg will carry the first cargo of dominion wool bought by tie Imperial authorities, to England, but so far no definite instructions have been received , ion this matter.
