Sir,—lt is gratifying to find that at last sonic one lias taken up tlio cause of our beautiful "dumb" bush. (There 's room for a. now society.) For some considerable time now it has been a positno pain to soirio of the older generation to sec liou the beauty of Dunrdin is slowl> but suiclj becoming* <1 mere memory, New ZealaJid bush has a charm all its own ; so have tho woods of Scotland, but no one can successfully unite tho two. A similar pain attacks one who looks (or rather tr.es to look) at L.iko Logan, once pretty, which could, with some trouble, have been made beautiful. As a visitor remarked on coming in bv train recently, "The enhance to Dunedin used to be prett> , now it is a mudhole." Can nothing be clone?—l am. etc., Axotiikb Lover or rat Bu&h. August 24-.
