VILOUR REWARDED.
The following gazetted notice of the decoration of Second Lieutenant W. S. Glenn appears in the London Times on Juno 26:—"Rewards for gallantry, MilitaryCross: Second Lieutenant William Spiers Glenn, special reserve (attached 73rd Battery, sth Brigade), R.F.A. —For conspicuous gallantly and ability as observing officer, 110 was exposed to heavy shell fire for seveial hours, but with great coolness and judgment conected the (iro of his battery throughout and sent back constant reports on the situation." Two members of the New Zealand staff of the National .Bank of New Zealand have been decorated for bravery in tho field— namely, C. R. 'G. Bassett (Auckland), who won tho Victoria Cross Mid Corporal B. N. ~ Tavendor (Christchurch), who won the B.C.M. Mr Robert Logan, on behalf of tho directors and shareholders of the bank, at tho annual meering in London, congratulated these young men on their Tvelldcerved honour, and stated that a grant of, £100 had been made to Bassett as a mark of appreciation for his distinguished conduet.
