STREET COLLECTION TO-DAY.
To-day the public will havo the opportunity of supporting tho Overseas Club in its efforts to procure tho means of obtaining funds to purchase comforts and wool for tho soldiers. Tho inclement weather lately experienced has not deterred tho ladies in their work of making up a splendid badge, which should meet with a ready sale. The ribbon is of dark crimson, with tho words " Pozieres, 1916, N.Z. Remember our boys." The idea is to commemorate the splendid achievements of the New Zoalanders at Pozieres. It is suggested that the badges could bo enclosed in letters to the soldiers at the front, who would be glad to receive such a proof that the citizens of Duaedin are proud of their deeds. In conjunction with the collection a concert will be held on Saturday evening to augment the fund. The great amount of work undertaken by the Overseas Club is little known by the public, and the appeal to-day affords the community a chance to tender practical support to the organisation. At tho concert sweets are to be sold, and donations may bo left at the club loom, in Stuart stteet, on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday morning. " Support the collection, and you will help tho boys" is tho Overseas Club's appeal to the citizens. Tho following is a list of the stallholders: Cargill's Corner, Mrs W. \T. M'Farlane; Old Post Office, Mrs R. C. Jones; Jacoba's Corner, Mrs G.
