REPATRIATION OF SOLDIERS
ACTION IN AUSTRALIA.
SYDNEY, August 24. Speaking at an appeal for the repatriation fund, Mr W. M. Hughes said that if, after appealing io>' money, the fund fell ■ hort, the Government would not appeal further, but -\vould act.
EXPORT OF SILVER PROHIBITED. MELBOURNE, August 24. (Received Aug. 24, at 11.10 p.m.) A proclamation prohibits the exportation of silver without permission.
