Mrs Hamilton Rice (formerly widow of Mr George Widener, a Titanic victim) will accompany her husband on,his next exploration in South America. - They will leave the United States shortly in the palatial yacht once ownedi 'by King Leopold II of Belgium. Dr and Mrs Rice propose to make a thorough exploration of the Amazon River with small vessels.
Dr Alexander Hamilton Rico, a member of the surgical staff of the Ambulance Amei icaine, Paris, explored the Napo River, Ecuador, in 1901; crossed Venezuela and Columbia from Caraca to Bogota in 1906-7; explored and mapped tho Naupis River, of Columbia and Brazil in 1907-8; carried on further explorations in the North-west Amiyon basin of the important tributarv rivers of the Cagneta, Negro, and Orinoco systems, 3 911-13; vvas awarded patron's gold medal of Royal Goographioal Society, and gold medal of "Harvard Travellers' Club in 1914.
