Druakenncsa —A first offender was fined 5s or 24 hours' imprisonment, and a second, ■who did not appear, was lined 10s or 24 hours' imprisonment. James Young was tined 10s or 24 hours' imprisonment. Alleged Indecent Assault. —Walter Reynolds iSauders was charged thai, on Tuesday, at Sawyers Bay, he did indecently ajasault a ;nalo person.—Chiet-deteetive Bishop asked for a remand until Monday.— Mr tfanloii asked for bail, which was granted—accused in his own recognisance of £100, and two sureties of £50 each or one of £100.
Alleged Theft. —Alfred Riddle was chargcd that, on August 8, at Dunedin, he did steal 'a suit of clothes, valued at £6 6s, from the dwelling of Margaret FiUpatriek, the clothes being the property of Edward Fitzgibbons. —Chief-detective Bishop stated that the accused was arrested with another man named Olsen at Hampden on this charge, and had been remanded until Monday. From inquiries made, and from the statement made by Olsen, who admitted the offence, the police were satisfied that Riddle did not commit th 3 theft, and therefore no evideneo would be offered against him. —The case was struck out, and Riddle was discharged from custody.
