The current number of Chambers's Journal is a most readablo number. Tho trail of the war is shown even in the shoit stories —"If tho Censor Only Know,"' to wit. a talo of treachery. "Tho Pilgrimage Railway" gi\cs an interesting account of the railway from Damascus to Medina, on tho route to Mecca—a lino which was built bv subscriptions throughout tho Tmkish Empire and tho rest ol the Mahommcdan world. "Our Schools and tho Trenches" is an article capablv and feelingly written by Sir Jamrs Yoxall, MP. "Tho Passing of the Hohenzollcras" docs not refer, as ono would think from tho title, 1o the royal house of Germany, but to the German colonies and tho stamps issued in thorn, bearing a picture of the Imperial }acht, tnc Hohenzollem. Thechiptor is of spreiil interest to philatelists, but furnishes information lhat will b" useful <o otli Other articles of general interest combine to make up an excellent niaga/nii.
