SEVERAL TRENCHES TAKEN.
HEAVY FIGHTING NEAR GORIZIA. Australian and N.Z Cable Association. LONDON, August 15. An Italian communique states : We atticked the Austrian lines westward of Storado and Monto Pecinka, capturing several trendies. There is heavy fighting on the hills eastward of Gofizia. Austrian demonstrations at various points were everywhere repulsed. High Commissioner's Cable. LONDON, August 15. Last night the Italians repulsed several counter-attacks. Yesterday they captured several sections of the enemy trenches, with 1419 prisoners. AUSTRIAN LOSSES. OVER TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, August 15. A Rome wireless message says the estimated Austrian losses since August 4 on the Italian front are 25,000 killed, 40,000 wounded, and 22,000 taken prisoner. Austria's recent total losses, including those- on the east front, are probably over 200,000.
