TO THfi EDITOR. fim,— In a return to Parliament of war expenses there ; s an item of £1,854,242 for transport, including charter of .steamois. Will Mr Masscy ajid Sir Joseph Ward tell us now much of this monev was paid 1o tlie Union Company? They could have bought tho company's whole fleet for less than that amount when the war started, but now, after paying that amount for the loan of the steamers, they do no even own enough rope yard out of this expenditure to tie up the snips' papers with.—l am, etc., Disgusted.
