WOOL SALES
Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 19. At the wool sales a fair selection was offered. The market was .very firm all round. New Zealand clips :—Leslie Hills, top price, 19jd, average 18^d; Mairere, top lSj-d, average 18d; Reaty, top 18jd, average 17|d; Panikau, top 18£ d, aiverage 17 5-18 d. The sales have been adjourned to May 2. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company is in receipt of the following cablegram from its London office regarding the third series of sales:— "Strong competition. Compared with Maxch 17 superior and lambs, market firm; medium and inferior merino, 7£ per cent, to 10 per cent, higher; crossbred, greasy, coarse, 5 per cent.; medium, also scoured and slipe, par to 5 per cent, higher. Sales adjourned till May 2." Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. have received the following wool market cable from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Co.Merino, inferior, : market advanced 5 per cent. Saiefl closed ' for Easter and reopen on May 2."
