INFANTILE PARALYSIS
♦ THE WELLINGTON HEALTH DISTRICT. THREE MORE CASES. (Peb United Pkess "Associaiton.) WELLINGTON, April 10. To-day three fresh cases of infantile paralysis were reported—one in "Wellington, one at Picton, and one at Waipukurau. Dr Sydney Smith, Wellington District Health Officer, interviewed to-day regarding infantile paralysis, said tho effect of tho colder weather would not be noticeable for a week or two, when there would probably be a diminution in the disease. Ho emphasised the necessity for absolutely sanitary and hygienic conditions and disinfecting public meeting places. FATAL CASE AT. PICTON. (Peb United Phess Association.) BLENHEIM,* April 10. A fatal case of infantile paralysis is reported from Picton. The victim, a youth, was 20 years of age. THE CANTERBURY DISTRICT. TWO MORE CASES. (Pee United Pbess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 10. Two oases of infantile paralysis are reported from South Canterbury—a young woman of 19 years and a girl of five years. Thirty-two cases to date have been reported in Canterbury.
