— 7 STTEAMER WAVERLEY SOLD. ■ v The Anchor Shipping Company's wellknown coastal steamer Waverley, which has been purchased _by the Patea Farmers' Cooperative Freezing Company will pass into the hands of her now owners at an early date (says the Lyttelton Times). Of 157 tons gross register, the Waverley was built ■V' . at Auckland in 1833, and was engined by Messrs E. W. Mills and Co., of Wellington. Her dimensions' are: —ll2ft in length, 17ft in: breadth, and Bft in depth. Whilst engaged in the Patea trade she was somewhat shorted than at present, but dh relinquishing that running she was lengthened considerably in order to fit her for the trade which she has since maintained. Her first owner was the late Captain W. J. Gibbons, who was master of her for many -years. . She was then sold to the Anchor Shipping Company, of Nelson, which has been her owner ever since.
