TENDERS are invited for the TRANSPORT of EAST INDIAN EMIGRANTS, for a period of three years from the Ist October, 1916, from the ports of Calcutta and-or Madras, to Suva, Fiji; and for the TRANSPORT of INDIAN IMMIGRANTS Returning from Suva, Fiji, to either of the above ports. , Tenders will be considered for a period of three years as aforesaid, as also alternative tenders for a period of two years or one year from the Ist October, 1916. The vessels to be provided are to bo steamers fitted for the cpnveyance of emigrants in compliance with the requirements of "'The Indian Emigration Act XXI, 1883," and the rules made under its provisions; and the service is to be of such a , character as to permit of the conveyance of 3500 emigrants in any one year, if re- ' quired by the Government. Tenders should be submitted for the conveyance at a fixed rate of passage money 1 for each emigrant of the age of 10 years s and over, and for each emigrant under tho ' age of 10 years.
