BELGIAN RELIEF FUND.
The following amounts have been collected for. the month of March from residents in part of Maori Hill by Mrs Lavender, £20 7s; Mra Hunter, £6 9s 6d. On Monday evening the collectors for the Belgian Relief Fund in the North-East Valley will deliver a report on their work during tho past 12 months at the Valley Town Hall, and as the district has contributed to the fund in an exceptionally handsomj® manner, it will, no doubt, bio gratifying reading. The Mayor will preside, and the ' Rev. R. S. Gray will address the meeting. Musical items are promised, and as_ an encouragement to tho lady collectors it is hoped there will be a large audience. The Clinton Busy Bees, a class of young girls, who devoto their Saturday afternoons ' o sowing and fancy wort, decided that the proceeds of their year's labours should be given to the fund for the help of the British and Belgian poor. To this end a sale' was held last Saturday in the - tion Hall. A short programme of songs • and recitations was rendered by tho Bees, ihere was a good attendance of the public, and bnsiness was brisk. All tho stalls were cleared in the course of the aftemoofi, and tho salo realised £9 10s 4d. Tho class is under the supervision of Mrs Mason and Mrs Garden. _
