DRUIDISM.
The fortnightly meeting of Ivanhoo Lodge was held on Monday evening, A.D. Bro. J. Simmons presided, and was greeted by a largo attendance of members and visitors. A somewhat extensive correspondence was dealt with, while the A.D. Bards gave a lengthy report upon the condition of the members on the sick roll. This report was received, and sicic pay amounting to £2S 4s was passed for payment. Ono member was initiated. The usual loyal and hospitable toasts were honoured, the latter being responded /to by P.D.P. Bro. Reid (Lily of the Valley Lodge), and P.A. Bro. Stewart (Enterprise Lodge). The Grand Lodge delegates (Bros. Haymes, Shalton, and Cliff) gave a full report of the Grand Lodge -meeting, and received the thanks of tho lodge. Tho following brothers contributed " items: —Songs—Bos. Haymes, Shelton, Gibson, Cliff, Seal, Laing, Simmons, Gray, and Scales; recitations were contributed by Bros. Borrow Drake, and Gerry. The Lily'of tho Valley Lodge met on Wednesday. A.D. Bro. Baird presided, and all tho officers and a good number of visitors wero present. Tho judges in tho efficiency competition attended in their official capacity, and received a hearty welcome. Two members wero initiated, and two candidates proposed for memibership. Tho various toasts were honoured, and responded to by P.D.P. Bro. Whifcty (Bay Lodge), P.D.P. Bro. Jaoobsen (All Nations Lodge), V.A.B. Bro, Drako, and P.D.P. Bro. Brookio (Ivanhoo Lodge), Tho receipts wero £47 10s. What promises to bo an epoch-making conference of friendly societies will meet at tho invitation of tho Government in Wellington on. April 13, Tho Druids of tho dominion will send fivo representatives, and Grand Secretary Bro. Steel has boon selected to represent Otago and Southland, Hopes are running high that some 'decided forward steps for the advancement of nil tho orders will be tho outcome of the gathering.
