BOWLING.
The greenkcepers were favoured with idoa] weather for their tournament on Tuesday, and as a result a most enjoyable time was spent. The morning was taken up with rink play, which resulted as follows:—First round: Roslyn 12 beat Kaituna 6; Balmacewen 10 beat Caledonian 6. Second round: _ Roslyn 11 beat Baknacewen 9; Caledonian 12 beat Kaituna. 9. Roslyn thus won, with Balrr.aoewen runner-up. In the afternoon doubles were played, resulting thus:—First round: Babnaceweri 14 beat Caledonian. 7; Kaituna 11 beat Roslyn 8; St. Kilda 17 beat Caversham 14. Second round: Kaituna 13 boat St. Kilda 11; Caversham. 13 beat Roslyn 10; Balmaoewen a bye. In the finals Balmaoewen 16 beat Kaituna 8; Caversham 14 beat Caledonian 10; St. Kilda IS beat Roslyn 13, Balmaoewen thus securing first piece, with Caversham and St. Kilda second and third respectively.
During the lunch hour several toastg wero proposed, and occasion" was taken to thank tho Kaituna Club for tho use of tho green, and tho ladies of tho same club for providing afternoon tea. The greenkeepors were so pleased at the outcome of their first tournament,, that they are looking forward with pleasure to the next afDair of the kind, which it was decided to hold in tho first Saturday in March next.
