OTAGO WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the committee was. held yesterday afternoon in tho Early Settlers' Ilall. details were discussed in connection with the luncheon which is to be given to the* soldiers who are-returning by tho Tahiti. Mrs Winter has kindly placed her services at tho disposal of the committeo, and has also to lend cutlery, crockery, etc. of cooked moat and sweets (trifles, fruit .saladc, shapes, and cakes) are invited, and to avoid overlapping intending donors are asked to ring up the secretary at tho Early Settlers' Hall, stating what they intend giving. Small donations of money for this object will also be gratefully received. Her Excellency the Cbuntess of Liverpool will be spending a day or two in Dunedin next week, and has expressed a desire to meet the workers. It was. agreed to 'have a. meeting of all workers in the Early Settlers' Hall on Friday afternoon, March 24, _at whiih country delegates will also be invited to be present. Discussion took place about the dominion parcel scheme, the carrying out of which is a recommendation from the conference which recently met. in Wellington. It was decided-to write to all oountry committees asking for their co-operation in this matter. Unices this is obtained it will be very difficult to carry out tlho scheme, and thus come into line with the other three centres. The Auckland women have decided to send 5000 of these parcels by transports shortly, and it is hoped thai the women of Otago will carry out their share of the contract. These parcels will be of the value of 2s 6tl, and will contain a pair of socks and such articles of food as bovril, condensed milk, chocolate, curry powder, etc. Miss Dorothea Spinney will give a recital in the Burns Hall on Friday evening in aid of the -Serbian Women's Fund, and members of the association are requested to be present. It, would be a gracious way for the fortunate New Zealand women to show their sympathy with the unfortunate Serbian women, many of whom have lost their all.
