YOUNG HELPERS' LEAGUE
Last May, a representative of the Young Helpers' League, in connection with Dr Barnardo's Homes, visited tho Caversham School in order to form, a, branch of the Young Helpers' League, with the result that about 50 children became members. These children were entertained recently at a garden narty, bv Mrs Snowball (vice-pre-eident of" the Caversham branch), who treated them right royally, sparing no pains to rrako tho afternoon a success. At this function, the children's boxes were opened, and tho society will be benefited to the extent of over £9. To swell this, an impromptu concert was givei: in the school gymnasiuni, which, with money from, the sale of sweets, raised the amount to £13 10s. Considering the many oalls made upon even the children, this amount was very satisfactory.
