The amount put through the totalisator was £3?.51, as compared with £3058 on tho corresponding day last year. Results: — DISTRICT HANDICAP.—I Luna Bell 1, 2 Dillon 2, 6 Blenheim 3. Also started: Wilkin Belle, Shrimp, Rothsil. Won easily by six lengths. Time, 3min 37 2-ssec. STEWARDS' HANDICAP.—2 Gladall 1, 1 Bobby B. 2, 8 Rapaura 3. Also started!: Eclat, Imperial Dolly, Cremorne, Chip, Allerton, Alabama Thorpe, Wioletta Arab Belle, Forest Chief, Calumet, Lady Roanchild. Won by two lengths. Tme, 3min MARLBOROUGH HANDICAP.—I Admiral Hal 1, 6 Wild Thorpe 2, 3 Bundura 3. Also started: Olive Child, Little Bones, General Cass. Won by two lengths. Time, smin 13 l-sseo. Acceptances for the first day of the Forbury Park Trotting Club's meeting will close this evening. It is understood that Mr L. C. Hazlett will act as fitarter at the Forbury Park meeting. Mr Hazlett wis very successful when ho acted in a similar position to the club some years ago. and, if lie embaxked professionally in that direction, thero is no doubt he would soon create a monopoly in that direction, as far as the South Island is concerned. Mr Hazlett, however, has large business interests which prevent him from participating m raoing, except from a point of view.
