A Chinaman named Ah Wall alias Wah Jang, who came to Hamilton a few weeks aeo fix>m Wellington, was arrested on a cnarge of filing down gold coins. One half-sovereign was reduced in value by several shillings, while the police have evidence that the accused uttered and attempted to utter other coins similarly tampered with.
