DUNDAS STREET METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.

ANNIVERSARY ENTERTAINMENT. The 'thirty-seventh .anniversary of the Dundas Street Methodist Sunday School was celebrated last night by a bright entertainment, chiefly given by the children. There was a very krge and warmly-appreciative audience., over, which the Rev. S. Griffith presided. The programme commenced with a chorus by the school choir, conducted by Mr P. H. Young. Thereafter a krge number of recitations, songs, dialogues, tableaux, and action songs were presented by the children. The young people acquitted themselves most creditably, and succeeded in giving the greatest pleasure to their hearers! Solos were also contributed during the evening by Miss Gresty and Mr G. ! Proctor. Miss A. Maneell provided tho organ accompaniments.

Ihe annual re-port, nresented by the secretary (Mr F. W. Parker), stated that the school had been conducted during tho year under the superintendency of Mr W. M. Roberts. Tho staff had again beon handi- . capped through lack of numbers, and others had not come forward to fill all the places of teachers who had' left. Tho school staff numbered 20, including five male and 10 female teachers, and the average attendance had been very good. There was again a small decrease in tho number of scholars on the roll, tho total being now 180, as against 190 laet --'oar. The primary class had a roll number of 54. The finances of the school would in futuro be on an easier basis, as the loan account had been paid off, and the buildings were quite free of debt! The expenditure during the year amounted to £37 Iβ Id, and there was a balance in hand of £1 10s lid. Ah the close of tho entertainment the prizes won doiring the year were distributed to the sucoessful scholars by the Rev. S. Griffith. The following is the prize-list:— Ginis. Class I.—Hazel Hope Violet Hitchcock Lily Holdaway, Doris Hughes. Ruth Lawford, Netta Wilkie, Flora Cormack—first class. Class 2.— Queenie Thomson, first class; Rita Palmer and Jessie Fraser, second class. Clas3 3. —Hazel Bain, first class; Irene Hutchinson and Maud Holdaway, eecond class. Class 4.—Phcfebe Perry and Mabel Thomson, first class; Lyla Armishavv, Hedig Faulkner, Alma Aitken, Hilda Wight—second class. Class s.—Valda Bain and Ethel Wilson, first class; Gladys Rogers, eecond class. Class 6.—Alma Riach, Lily Baker, first class. Boys. Class.—Chris. Jackson, first class; Tom Hitchcock and Fred Broad, second clase. Class 3.—George Hutchinson, first class; Alex. Aitken, second class; Jack Cormack, special prize. Class 4.—Jack Divers, Tom Hughes Ernest Perry—first class. Class s.—Leslie Hitohcock, first class; Harry Divers and Tom Champion, second class.
