NAUTICAL INQUIRY
MISHAP TO THE MAPOURIKA. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 15. At the nautical inquiry concerning the recent mishap to the Mapourika, which touched Clay Point, near the French Pass, the evidence 6howed that the captain set what should have proved an even safer course than usii&l, as the night was very dark, and a severe electrical storm was experienced. The captain and o'ther witnesses attributed the mishap to the compass being affected by the electrical disturbance in the atmosphere.
