The customary sitting of the Duncd'n Stock Exchange was not held on Saturday morning

During the week cnd'ng November 6 the master of the Red Jacks dredge reports that he worked ahead mostly in the western corner in order to bring the face level. A good many landstone boulders were being encountered on that side, these being slips off the hill face. The cut was 165tt wide, and the average depth of the ground about 15£ ft, while the wash was similar to that obtaining in the previous week. The following cablegram has been sent to the head office of the Waihi Goldmining Company, London, under date of November 9, 1915:—'• For the period ended October 30 wo crushed 10,100 tons for a return value of £16,016 7s Id, making a total of £1,194,504 10s to date. The'pumps are just keeping water down 85ft below No. 7 level. No. 7 Level, Empire Lode: Crosscut at 570 ft. cut reef at 18ft; the present width is 39in, value £1 18s 6d. No. 8 winze 'has been sunk to a depth of 28ft; present width of reef is 51in. value £2 4s 6d. No. 10 winze has been sunk to a depth of 44ft; present width of reef is 42in, value £2 0s 4d." '

During the month of October the Talisman Consolidated Company crushed and treated 3000 tons of ore for a yield of bullion valued at £14,659 lis 3d. Compared with the return for the corresponding period last year, when 1530 tons yielded £23,195, this shows a decrease of _ £8536. The costs for the past month totalled £2 8s Bd, made up as follows: —Mine development, 16s lid; mining, 15s lOd; milling. 12s 9d; general expenses. 3s 2d. The total amount of bullion won from the mine to date is £2.537,435.
