PRESENTATION TO SOLDIERS' QUEEN.

A very pleasing oorcanony took place at the Savoy Loungo. on Tuesday evening, when supporters of "Our Soldiers' _ Queen" met to mako a presentation to their qneen (Mrs R. Hudson, jun.). Mr J. L. Salmond, in making 1 the presentation, referred to the vast amount of -work Mrs Hudson had done in connection with the Queen. Oaxniva], and said she set an example to them ail which spurred thorn on. He considered _ the amount raised by this group was highly satisfactory, and to their queen they recognised that to a large extent this result was due. On behalf of the wooers in this group he had much, pleasure in handing her a crocodile leather dressing case. Mr E. R. Smith aleo referred to the good work done by Mrs Hudson. Not only in connection with the Queen Carnival, but at all times she had been willing to assist any deserving object, ana & "was owing to what she had done for charitable objects in tho past that she had been nominated as one of the queens. Mr E. C. Reynolds replied on behalf of Mrs Hudson, and thanked the members for their handsome present. Light refreshments were handed round during the evening, and musical items were supplied by Mr E. Draike, while Mies Julie Jacobs favoured the company with a recite tion. The accompaniments were played by Mis F. J. Blackmail and Miss Julie Jacobs.
