Most of her crew j were saved. ,\ NE\V YORK, November 8. z Reuter's Berlin correspondent reports tihat the German cruiser Undine, 2657 tons, was sunk by a submarine in the Bal- *•; tic yesterday. [The Undine was a protected cruiser, built in 1904, and armed with 10 4.lin quick-firing guns and 14 smaller guns. Her speed was 21 knots.] GERMAN OFFICIAL REPORT. AMSTERDAM, November 8. v ;. (Received Nov. 9, at 9.45 p.m.) An official telegram from Berlin states that the small German cruiser Undine was sunk on Sunday while patrolling the south v coast of Sweden. A submarine fired two $ torpedoes. Nearly the whole of the crew were saved. BRITISH ARMED STEAMER SUNK. THIRTY-FOUR PERSONS MISSING. LONDON, November 8. i Official : Two submarines on Friday, id the Eastern Mediterranean, sank the Bri- '-' tish armed boarding steamer Tara, and 34 persons are missing.
