A Wages Dispute.—John Bice claimed 15s 6(1 for jmrt of a week's wages, ai:d £2 12s, a weeks wages, in lieu of notice, Irani John M'lvewen. —Mr Irwin, for the plaintill", said that the plaintili" was :t carter, and liiid worked two or three days in a week, for which lie received only 10.-> on account. —Bloc, in evidence, tsiid his employer told him on WYdncisduy morning to go up to Smart's contract, and if there was no work doing there, he hud bolter knock oft". When he came back from Smart's he demanded a full week's wages in lieu of a week's notice, but M'Kowen would rot give him this. —Mr Callnn, for defendant, said he admitted owing plaintiff 13s 3d, but he did not owe him anything «t the time the eummons was issued. Evidence was given by John and William M"Kowen, and by Thomas Farrell. The question in dispute was really whether Blee left his employer of his own accord, without notice, or whether ho was dismissed without noticeJudgment was frivon for plaintiff for the amount of 13s 3d admitted, and co?ts (6s).
