THE KONIGSBERG.

LETTER FROM A SAILOR. A LIVELY INCIDENT. FREMANTLE, July 11. (Received July 12, at 1.35 a.m.) A sailor on board a warship which left Fremantle a few months ago on an unknown mission, writes from near Zanzibar : —"We have been on blockading duty, stopping food supplies from entering to the enemy.

•' Our seaplanes make things interesting for the Konigsberg. We are looking forward to a naval landing party, and I think the Germans will put up a scrap when we start to force things. "At Tanga our troops met with big resistance, and had to abandon the attack. The Germans were well prepared. Beehives had bush Topes attached to them, and the men tripped on the ropes, upset thy hives, and got a warm time, while the Germans, with cleverly concealed machine guns, poured in a deadly fire upon our men."
