(Received July 11, at 3.20 p.m.) Sir John French reports that since the successful enterprise north of Ypres reported on the 6th the enemy have made repeated attempts to retake the lost trenches. All their counter-attacks have been stopped with the co-operation of our French artillery. After a bombing duel this morning, which lasted for two days and nights altogether, the enemy fell back along the canal, enabling us to extend otir plans. In addition to prisoners we captured a machine gun and three trench mortars. All reports indicate that the German losses were severe, particularly during the counter-attacks. A BELGIAN SUCCESS.
