In some instances the official records contain very little information concerning the next of kin of members of the Expeditionary Forces, with, the result that when messages relating to casualties are despatched to them the Telegraph Department experiences considerable difficulty in finding *he persons to -whom the telegrams are sent. Several instances of this have occurred in Dunedin, and at the present time telegrams for Mr W. G. Bonrke (next of kin of Charles Frank Bonrke, of the Wellington Mounted Rifles) and Annie Steward (next of kin of Andrew Thomas Steward, of the Otago Mounted Rifles) are awaiting claimants, all efforts by the officials yesterday to locate them being fruitless.

The next of kin of Lieutenant William S. Simpson, who was killed in action at the Dardanelles, is Mr Andrew Simpson, of Palmerston North, father of the deceased.
