RECRUITING IN CANTERBURY.
A SATISFACTORY RESPONSE (Pkb United Press Association.) CHRISTOHURCH, January 29. Recruiting is progressing satisfactorily ir Canterbury. There is no lack of young men of a splendid stamp coming forward; some of them South African war veterans. No difficulty is being experienced in scouring men for the non-commissioned ranks in the fifth reinforcements. Ten men have been selected, and are leaving for Trentham to-night.
