(Peb United Phess Association.) ELTHAM, January 18. Cable advices have been received here that the Hawera Dairy Factory realised 136s pe#- cwt for whey butter, and 80s per cwt for cheese. These are refold prices. STRATFORD, January 18. Some time between Saturday night and Sunday morning the premises of Messrs R. Hannah and Co. were entered and the safe removed to a yard at the back, where it was skilfully dynamited and the contents abstracted. The burglary was discovered by Mr Landers, the manager, yesterday afternoon. Cheques and cash totalling something under £100 were removed. There is no clue to the perpetrators. TAIHAPE, January 18. Thomas Johnson, aged 39, employed at Ngatatea station, had been missing for a fortnight. A search party found the body in> the vicinity of Erehwon station yesterday. Johnson's throat was cut, and he had a razor in his hand. BLENHEIM, January 18. A young man, named Cogle, was found at Jackson Heads yesterday with the top of his head blown off. There was a shotgun beside the body, pointing to suicide. GREYMOUTH, January 18. The coal returns for the week were :— Point Elizabeth, 1723 tons 14c\vt; Liverpool, 996 tons 2cwt; Paparoa, 1948 tons 17cwt; Blackball, 3693 tons 2cwt; Brimner, 791 tons scwt; —total, 9153 tons. INVERCARGILL, January 18. A motor car and garage owned by Mr D. W. M'Kay was destroyed by fire on Saturday night. Mr M'Kay struck a match, and a sheet of flame burst out. The insurances are £350 on the car and £150 on the building.
