WELLINGTON MEETING.

WELLINGTON, January 3.
Tho Wellington Rifle Association's annual meeting was concluded at Trentham yesterday in ideal weather, and 6omo very fine scoring was recorded. Tho principal prize-winners were :—
No. 3 Match; 10 shots at 600 yards; figure targets.—£l4, 11. R. Hunt (Suburbs), 45- £3, A. J. Jackson (Suburbs), 42; £2, 11.' J. King (Opaki), 42; £2, F. Stacey (Suburbs), 42. Scores of 41 downward to 36 took the 18 other prizes. No. 4 Match; 10 shots at 800 yards.—£4 J. L. Turner (Suburbs), 48; £3, H. Boon (Suburbs), 4«; £2, W. Thompson (Linton), 48; £2, R. C. Barklo (Suburbs), 48; £1, H. Dickeon (Linton), 48; £1, It A. Wilton (Mauriccville), 48. Scores of 47 to 45 carried off the other 16 prizes. No. 5 Match; 10 shots at 900 yards.—£4 A. Govenlock (Linton), 48; £3, F. Bolton (Opaki), 48; £2, A. D. Mason (Suburbs), 48; £2, R. J. King (Opaki), 47. Scores of 46 to 43 divided tho other 18 prizes. Teams' Match, of soven men a-side; seven shots each at 300, 500, and 600 yards.—This match was won by Linton No. 1 with a score of 446, Karori No. 1 being second with 434, and Opaki No. 1 third with 432. Tho Tyros Toams' Match went to Suburbs with 388 points, Linton being second with 360 points. The Cadet Championship "was won by R. P. Ray ward (Wellington College), and Palmerston North won tho Cadet Teams' Match.
Rifleman H. R. Hunt, of the Suburbs Club, put up a remarkable performance. Not only did h<j eecuro the association championship, but he also won the short mngo aggregate, carrying tho Licensed Victuallers' Cup and other trophies, as well as tho lonrr range aggregate, carrying tho Grady trophy.
