PORT CHALMERS BOROUGH COUNCIL
j The fortnightly meeting of the Port Chali mers Borough Council was hold last evening, Mr T. Hcollay (Mayor) presiding over a full attendance. A motion of sympathy was carried with the relatives of the late ex-Cr Woolsey. CORRESPONDENCE. Tho Carnival Committee wrote asking 1 tho council for the use of the recreation ground for the forthcoming patriotic carnival | val on December 10. —Granted. ! _ REPORTS. j The . Works Committee reported that the streets had received the usual attention during the past fortnight, and various works of a routine nature had been carried out. It was recommended that £25 should be spent in straightening the footpath in Macandrcw road, near Boiler Point—Adopted. '1 he Finance Committee reported that the receipts during the past fortnight, had amounted to £165 3s 9d, and the expendi--1 ture to £137 19s 7d, for which sum aocounts had been passed for paymejoi.—Adopted.
