WOOL SALES

GOOD PRICES AT NAPIER. (Pee United Pbess Association.) NAPIER, November 22. The first wool sale of the season was held yesterday, when over 17,000 bales were offered to a good attendance of buyers. In spite of the restrictions on account of the war bidding was spirited, and there was an all round increase in prices. The quality of the wool offered was not up to the usual standard for this time of the year. The fleeces were much heavier in grease, showing signs of the dry spring. The westerly winds which have, been experienced were responsible for the presence of much more dust than usual. The following is a comparison of the prices ruling at this sale and those at the first sale last year: Nov. 1014. Dec. 191.1. (1. d. d. tl. (Peb United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 22. Between 11,000 and 12.000 bales have been catalogued for Thursday's wool sale, which constitutes a record.
