Amendment Act, 1901," and " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908." PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dunedin City Council proposes raising a Special Loan for tho purpose and under the terms following:— (a) Tho purpose for which the proposed ; loan is required is to enlarge and extend the tramway system controlled bv the said Council, in particular by the addition of new tars, remodelling a number of existing oars, purchase of motor buses, and alteration to tho carshed. (b) The sum proposed to bo borrowed is Thirty Thousand Pounds (£30,000). (c) Tho proposed security for the interest and repayment of the loan is a,n annually recurring special rate of One Penny in tho ; Pound on the rateable value of all rateable property within tho City of Dunedin, in addition to the liability of the Corporation " of the Mayor, councillors, and citizens of tho City of Dunedin, and of its assets generally 2 for the payment of the debentures proposed • to be issued and tho interest and other ) charges thereon. The loan will be raised by the issue of debentures having a currency of £ 26 years, and the whole loan will be re- ,' payable-at the date of maturity of the said debentures. A sinking fund of 1 per centum . on the amount of the loan will be pro- . vided towards such repayment.
