TRAINING OF GIRLS

DOMESTIC SCIENCE,

(Fkom Oub Own Correspondent.)

WELLINGTON, July 8.

Mr Myers alked the Minister of Education to-day whether he would consider the desirability of instituting in our public schools a system of compulsory training in domestic science for girls.

Mr Allen replied that the attention given to elementary home science in the public schools was increasing every year, and women students in training colleges were compelled now to take up a course of home science. Until, however, all the teachers were qualified to do this work '.veil, he feared that not much would be gained by making a special course in home science compulsory in all schools.
