The Hon. T. Mackenzie said that New Zealand's loftiest peak (Mount Cook) was the everlasting memorial to Captain Cook's work. New Zealand's external trade was now equal to the total import and export trade of Great Britain, Germany, and France at the time of Captain Cook's

visit.
