"That the 'Government lie urged to carry on a scheme of n<oiforostati<m on an enlarged basis. "That tho decisions of previous conferences which have not boon given effixjt to be again reconfirmed, and that a deputation wait on the Government requesting that they bo given effect to. '".lliat the conference strongly protest against the a-ction of the Government in assisting imrnigrajite into the dominion whilst wo many of our own workers arc not fully empi«yod. "That in all future applications for a-w-.irds Unions bo advised to claim a minimum wage of 10s per day. "That on account of the depression in tho timber industry, the number of unemployed, an<l tho continued increase into tho dominion of foreugn timber, manufacturing or otherwise, tho federation tike stope to sussist wwvmill owners and manufacturers in urging on tho Government tho advisability of curtailing such largo importations, and that the duty be increased on all timbers under the mzo" of 12in x 12in or fche «pi.ivaiont.
"That this conference, representing 10,000 timber workers, protest apainst the cruel sentence inflicted upon Holland in connection with the strike, and demand his release.
"That tho Government be urged to experiment in tho direction of finding suitable timber ro taJce the placo of white pine for buttor boxes. Tnwhai was suggested as a substitute, as it wiis almost odourless.
"That the Government be urged to considerably reduce freights on "shorts," and that it bo pointer! out that millions of foot of that o.lase of timber arc now destroyed every year.
"Th;ih -where the Arbitration Court mnke an award granting an increase of wages it shall not bo lawful for tho employer to raise tho cost of commodities.
"That the executive be fixed for tho onsuing year at Chrfete'hurch, and that the Easter conference be held there."
