LEGAL NOTICES. fIENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NEW **" ZEALAND. SESSION, 1914. In the Matter of a BILL to be intituled "An Act to Empower the Dunedin City Council to Appoint Ooumussioners, with Authority to Invest Certain Portions of the Moneys iStanding to the Credit of its Trading .Departments' Renewal Fund Account," Notice Is Hereby Given that Application is intended to ba made to too General Assembly of New Zealand, at tho ensuing Seeaion thereof, to be immediately held, for leave to bring in a Bill, to be intituled " An Aci to Empower the Dunedan City Council to Appoint Conmiiissioners, with Authority to Invest Certain Portions of the Moneys Standing to the Credit of its. Trading Departments' Renewal Fund Account." The objects of such Bill are to permit tihe Council to charge in each year against the revenue derived by the various Trading Departments of the Corporation an Annual Appropriation to Provide for Renewals and to make it upon the Council to pay one-half of such Appropriations and one-half of the amount standing to tho credit of tho Trading Departments' Renewal and Depreciation Fund Account at 31st March, 1914, to Three Commissioners to be appointed under the provisions of the said Bill. Such amounts to be invested by the Commissioners in recognised trust securities and to be repaid by them to the Council for the purpose of renewing or replacing the Plant of the respective undertakings of such Trading Departments which may from time to time become worn out, obsolete, of incapable from any other cause of further usefulness. The other hall of such Appropriations and of the amount standing to the credit of the said Account to be retained 'by the Council and applied in renewing any considerable portion of the Plant that is prematurely worn out or has become obsolete or useless. Tho Commissioners are not to be obliged to repay to the Council at any ono time less then £10,000, and they are not to be responsible for the application by the Council of iihe moneys paid by them to tho Council. If, upon the maturity of any Debentures issued by tho Council the accrued Sinking Fund is insufficient to pay the Debentures, the Council may call up from the Commissioners the whole or part of the moneys held by them in respect of the undertaking for which the Debentures were issued. The Commissioners may require satisfactory proof that the moneys are necessarily required for all or any of tho purposes aforesaid, but the decision of the Commissioners. may be reviewed; by a Judge of. the Supreme Court. Power is also given to tho Commissioners to renort to tho Council on the sufficiency or otherwise of the Annual Appropriations for tho time being made by the Council. And Notice is Hereby Given that a COPY of the said BILL has been deposited in the Magistrate's Court for the District of Dunedin for PUBLIC INSPECTION. Dated this twenty-third day of June, 1914.
