UNIVERSITY STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION.
The annual business meeting of the Otago University Students' Association was held on Friday evening. Over 400 members were present. In the absence of Mi Maweon (the retiring president) the chair ■was occupied by Mr A. V. Short, the senior vice-president.. - The annual report and balance sheet, the latter showing a credit balance of £«, were Fo* the position of president there were two nominations—Messrs- C. M. Smith, MA., and P. J. Jory. The voting resulted in the election of Mr Jory. * . The voting for vice-presidents -wae then .proceeded with. The following were Dominated:— Miss Tucker, Messrs^Hewat, Kidd, Nisbet, and Wilkinson. ! The election resulted in the return of Miss Tucker and Mr Kidd. A motion in favour of the abandonment of the capping was declared lost by 120 votes toillß.
