The British and Foreign Bible Society in 1913 distributed 8,958,000 Bibles in 456 languages. At the annual meeting the Bishop of. Norwich said that mothers and children did not read the Bible together nowadays, because the Bible had many modern competitors, and people did not care to read a Book condemning,the life they were leading.
