Mr Thomas Walter Stringer, K. 0., whs born in Christchurch in November, 185b, and waa educated at Chrietchurch Boys' High Sohool and Canterbury Col logo, lie served articles with Mr T. I. Joynt, of Christchurch, and was admitted a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court in October, 1879. He waa appointed Crown Solicitor for Canterbury district in May, 1893, end King's Counsel in 1907. He was also for to mo years a member of tho .Hoard of Governors of Canterbury College.
