The Archbishop of Canterbury has appointed a committee, in compliance with the resolution of(the Church Council in July, 1913, to inquire into the changes advisable in the relations of the Church and State in order to sectire a fuller expression of the spiritual independence of the Church and a national recognition of religion.

The committee includes Lord Selborne (chairman), Mr Balfour, the Duke of Devonshire, Lord Hugh Cecil, and the Bishops of Oxford, Bristol, and Liverpool.
