(Per United Pbess Association.)
AUCKLAND, December 4. The unfavourable climatic conditions have continued into the- fourth day of the Auckland Exhibition, and a greater degree of enthusiasm which may reasonably be anticipated remains deferred. Still undaunted, however, the officials responsible for the success ot the undertaking are fastening their hopes on brighter days to come, at the same time pointing out that under the circumstances the attendances have been very satisfactory. The official estimate of the number present on the first three days gives a totahof 33,000, and out of this 18,000 paid at the jjates, the remainder consisting of season ticket holders, etc. Last night an amateur athletic meeting was held in the cricket grounds adjoining the Exhibition, and to-day an art flower 6ho\v is being held in the concert hall. The members of the Royal Artillery Band arc taking their weekly half-dav on, but they will give an open-air entertainment this evening. To-morrow a two-days' children's flower show and carnival will commence. In Teply to a deputation from lady dancers Mr T. P. Gilfedder, Exhibition Sports Commissioner, stated last night that if entries warranted it a points prize (aggregate) would be included in the Exhibition games for girls over 16 years for euch dances as, say, Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Reel, Gillie Callum, and Seantreus. The first prize to be £8, second £3, third £1.
