SOLICITOR ARRESTED.
ALLEGED FAILURE TO ACCOUNT. (Peb United Phes3 Association.) AUCKLAND, December 3. When the Maheno arrived from Sydney this morning Detective-Sergeant Hollis and Detectives Scott and Hammond were in I attendance, and arrested a man who was I travelling under the name of Watson. The man is alleged to bo a solicitor named Oliver Noel Gillespie, who has been missing from Feilding since June, and the charge laid against him is that on or about June 1, at Feilding, he received £1700 on behalf of the trustees of the estate of James Vile on terms requiring him to account for the same, and that he failed to account for it.
Accused stated that he was returning to New Zealand to explain the circumstances surrounding the transaction out of which the charge arose.
